A Look Into Blues Musician Curtis Salgado

The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival was this past Memorial Day weekend. One of the artists that performed for this event was Blues music professional Curtis Salgado. There are a few things you should know about this Blues musician.

He has been singing since the 1960’s and was the front man for the band The Nighthawks. This band is what gave John Belushi the inspiration for The Blues Brothers, which was an instant hit. He has also been part of the Robert Cray Band and even toured with Roomful of Blues. His band, named Soul Shot, has toured with many notable bands, including Santana.

His style is a combination of R&B, funk and blues to give a unique sound. In 2010, Curtis Salgado won the Blues Music Award for Soul and Blues Artist of the Year. Despite his age, he is actually at the height of his career. He has grown more of a fan base and is touring more.
