Best Places to Listen to Live Blues Music

Ventura County and Los Angeles County are rich in blues music tradition and opportunities to experience the genre live and in person. Of course, there are the two annual festival events in the region, both of which have just concluded. But you can certainly put next year’s versions on your to-do list. The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival (May) and the Ventura County Blues Festival (April) are two of the finest blues music events in the nation.

In addition, more than 200 blues festivals are scheduled across the country for this summer, 2013. You can find them listed in The Blues Festival Guide, Blues Revue, or Big City Rhythm and Blues.

But there are more than enough sources for good blues music in LA and Ventura and the surrounding area.
