Cadillac Records, a 2008 film starring Beyonce Knowles as Etta James and Adrien Brody as Leondard Chess. Chess, a Polish immigrant in the U.S., started a record company by selling Rhythm and Blues artists’ records out of the back of his Cadillac.

Set in Chicago in the 1950s, this film centers on the personal challenges of the performers featured on the Chess recording label, including Etta James, Chuck Berry, Little Walter, Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters, as well as Leonard Chess.

The film was a great attempt at depicting the importance of the Chess label for Blues musicians of the time and would be a great way to prepare for any upcoming blues concerts you plan to attend.
