Cajun Blues and Music Festival To Feature Tommy Castro And The Painkillers

It has been twenty five years since the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise began the largest Cajun, Blues and Zydeco music festival in the West. On Memorial Day Weekend 2014, it will be time once again to gather around the music stages for a fantastic lineup of musicians for the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival.

The two-day event on Memorial Day Weekend this year will mark the festival’s 25th anniversary. We are proud to announce that the Blues stage will feature Blues performers Tommy Castro and the Painkillers.

Tommy’s stripped down and fired up band the Painkillers consists of Randy McDonald, a talented bass musician, James Pace on the keyboards and David Tucker on drums. The band performs sharp new originals and fresh versions of songs by Andre Williams, J.B. Lenoir, Savoy Brown’s Chris Youlder and Jimmy Hall.

Randy McDonald has been an in-demand first call musician since his late teens. Keyboard player James Pace has shared stages with the great B.B. King and drummer David Tucker is known for his natural sound.

Hear Tommy and the Painkillers perform great songs like The Devil You Know, Second Mind and When I Cross the Mississippi. Don’t miss the fun at the next annual Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Music Festival right outside of Los Angeles.
