California’s premier Zydeco band to perform at cajun and blues festival

On Memorial Day Weekend 2014, catch Grammy-nominated Lisa Haley & the ZydeKats at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival.

Known by many as the most joyful act to perform Americana, Cajun and Zydeco music today, the band is a five-piece with Lisa Haley serving as lead singer, fiddler and songwriter. In its 17 years of existence, the act has toured the world, most recently in support of its new album “Joy Ride!”

Haley is a fourth-generation fiddler. Her mother’s family fled the Irish smallpox epidemic to land at Roddy Bayou, La. in 1718. She began performing at the age of 4, much of the time in the South.

Today, Haley performs with the Zydekats, who are Gigi Rabe, accordion and vocals, Andy Anders, bass and vocals, and Chris Ross, drums and vocals.

Lisa Haley & the ZydeKats will perform on the festival’s Cajun-Zydeco stage. You can find out more about them here!
