Spice Up Dinner with This Andouille Sausage Creole Recipe

 To make it, you will need:

  • ¼ cup of flour
  • ¼ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 1 ½ cups of chopped onion
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • ½ cup of chopped celery
  • ¾ cup of sliced green onions
  • 1 14.5-ounce can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 6-ounce can of tomato paste
  • 1 8-ounce can of tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of seasoning salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 pounds of sliced Andouille sausage
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley

 Directions

Stir the flour and oil together in a Dutch oven and cook over medium heat until the combination is golden (about 10-15 minutes). Add the garlic, onion, green pepper, celery, and green onion and cook until tender (about 10 minutes).

Add in the tomatoes, paste, sauce, red pepper, seasoning salt, bay leaves, hot sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and sausage with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Take out the bay leaves, serve, and garnish with parsley. Enjoy!
