Gary Allegretto at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival

From the first festival in 1988 all the way up until this year, the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music festival has grown.  Originally a clambake fundraiser for the rotary club, the event has grown immensely and now includes Blues, Cajun, Creole and Zydeco music.  All proceeds from the festival go to several charitable organizations.  The festival houses two stages, a Blues stage and a Cajun/Zydeco stage.  The festival also features several food vendors with something to satisfy everyone’s palate and various craft vendors where attendees can find almost anything.  Recently added is a kid’s area which includes bounce houses and climbing walls.

Among the many performers at this year’s festival, is Gary Allegretto.  Gary is a renowned harmonica player and humanitarian.  He founded Harmonikids, which is a charity providing musical therapy through harmonicas to special needs children around the world.  Gary’s musical work has been praised highly throughout the world and has also appeared on television and in movies such as "Rum Diary".  Gary will be performing on the Blues stage during the festival and it is going to be a concert not to be missed.

Come out to the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, Memorial Day Weekend 2014 and hear some great music, enjoy some great food and help charity too.
