Get Your Dance On With AJ Gibbs Dance Lessons

A former Zydeco drummer, A.J. Gibbs has performed with such notable musical acts as Willis Prudhomme, Leroy Thomas, Andre Thierry and Dexter Ardoin. After taking his very first Zydeco dance class with Andre Thierry’s mom, Gibbs was hooked, eventually becoming a Cajun/Zydeco dance instructor. He blends hip-hop dance moves and tradition Zydeco dance to create an electrifying experience.

If you plan to attend the 2014 Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, do yourself a favor and attend one of the free classes A.J. Gibbs will be leading between acts at the Cajun/Zydeco stage. Gibbs travels the country as a dance instructor at a number of music festivals, and he has been a crowd favorite at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival in years past.

The event happens on Memorial Day Weekend 2014, and as always, promises lots of fun and great music for the entire family. In case you’ve never attended before, there are two days of all your favorite Cajun-Creole dishes, harmonica workshops and lessons (for both children and adults), a Mardi-Gras style parade and more. Plus, there are three separate music stages–a Blues stage, a Cajun-Zydeco stage and a separate stage with performance designed especially for kids.

There’s enormous, family-friendly fun for everyone, so come out to enjoy great music and get your dance on with A.J. Gibbs between sets.
