John Mayall Set To Perform At The 2014 Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival

Memorial Day Weekend 2014 will mark the 25th anniversary of the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival. Since 1989, the Cajun and Blues Festival has featured the best in Cajun food, southern food and Blues music. It’s like New Orleans packs up and visits the Simi Valley, California area every Memorial Day Weekend.

The festival has grown over the years to be the largest of its kind West of the Mississippi. This year promises to be even better, marking the festivals 25th year. The festival is proud to present some great Blues performers for the Silver Anniversary.

Enjoy the soulful sounds of John Mayall on the Blues stage. John grew up in a village near Manchester, England. He developed an interest in blues and jazz by playing his father’s 78s record collection. His music has been influenced over the years by guitarists Lonnie Johnson, Eddie Lang, Josh White, Brownie McGee and Leadbelly. But it was the boogie woogie sounds of giants like Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis that really fueled his musical energy.

Come and experience this musical energy at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival in the beautiful region outside of Los Angeles.
