Nathan Williams Jr. & The Zydeco Big Timers: Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, Memorial Weekend 2014

The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, held on Memorial Day Weekend 2014, is an exuberant celebration of Cajun and Zydeco music.

Gracing the Cajun-Zydeco stage will be Nathan Williams Jr. & The Zydeco Big Timers. This popular band exemplifies the fun times.

If the name Nathan Williams sounds familiar, it should. Williams is part of an extended Zydeco dynasty and the son of beloved Zydeco icon Nathan & the Zydeco Cha-Chas. Senior penned the tunes on 2002’s,” Zydeco Ballin’.” Lil Nate wrote the tunes for the next five Lil Nate & The Zydeco Big Timers CDs: “Doin’ It Big Time,” “THE AUTONOMOUS-Fit for Survival,” “Deceived, Degraded, But Not Destroyed,” “Live at 2011 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival,” and the soon to be released “Big Timer Nation…Go Hard or Go Home.”

Come hear why Lil Nathan & The Zydeco Big Timers have won awards such as Best of the Beat Music Awards by “Offbeat Magazine,” The Big Easy Awards nomination for Best Zydeco Band, and featured in “The New York Times” as one of the most popular bands in the genre.

Enjoy the good fun and warmth of authentic live Zydeco with an artist who incorporates many rich musical traditions from his Zydeco lineage and incorporates his jazz knowledge. This is the stuff of which living legends swing. And the stage show? Besides being very easy on the eyes, if you’re lucky, you’ll witness as he executes one of his trademark moves, such as climbing 15 feet on speakers and doing pushups.

The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival can’t stress enough how this Cajun/Zydeco lineup is an assembly of the best performers the West coast as ever seen, stay tune for more performers!
