Save the Date! Cajun and Blues Music Fest over Memorial Day Weekend

Make plans now for an unforgettable Zydeco- and Blues-flavored good time. The 25th Annual Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25 (Memorial Day weekend 2014).

More than 17 nationally-known Cajun-Zydeco and Blues artists are already scheduled for the festival’s stages, with a BIG announcement scheduled for early March. Acts include blues-rock legends Canned Heat on the Blues stage and Zydeco maestro Clifton Chenier on the Cajun-Zydeco stage. Local favorites Nancy and the Night-Crawlers are among the many other performers scheduled to appear.

Not only can you enjoy the stages featuring the soul of the Blues and the dance energy of the Cajun sound, you’ll find the festival offers something to keep your entire family entertained. A kids’ area will feature playground equipment, rock climbing walls, craft activities and performances. There will be plenty of Cajun and Creole food on hand, and local crafts people will display their wares.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise hosts the festival, and proceeds are used to promote Creole culture and support local charities. It takes place at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, 5005 Los Angeles Avenue, Simi Valley. Visit the website for ticket information, music schedules and more information.
