Behind the Scenes: The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise

The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Festival is put on every year by the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise in the Rancho Santa Susana Community Park. This festival is held on Memorial Day Weekend and all of the proceeds go to different charities that help support educational and humanitarian causes.

The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is one of 3 Rotary Clubs in the Simi Valley area. This group is made up of business people and professional leaders that take a very active part in the community. They also build friendships and connections that are invaluable and believe in “Service above Self”. This group enjoys giving back to the communities they live in through their services.

They help their community by developing projects that help children and different children’s programs. They also provide educational programs for the young and old. On a world-wide level they raise money for medical advancement and the development of service programs.

The Rotary Club in Simi Sunrise began the festival in 1988 as a New England Clambake fundraiser. Two years later, the Cajun & Blues Festival was born and with national attention, it is now the largest Cajun heritage festival that is west of the Mississippi.

The Cajun & Blues Music Festival is proud to be part of the Simi Valley area and they are thankful for the yearly hosting of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise. If you have questions or comments, contact us today.
