Artist Spotlight: MITCH RYDER

Artist Spotlight: MITCH RYDER

This year at the Cajun & Blues Music Festival, make room on your schedule for Mitch Ryder!

Mitch Ryder was the bridge that connected Motown soul factory and the high-energy rock ‘n’ roll that exploded out of Detroit and inspired such artists like Iggy Pop, MC5, Ted Nugent, and Bob Seger.

Ryder hit the scene in the mid-1960s when AM radio was going through its golden era courtesy of the kinds of music that was popular back in the day. Such music like Motown, Stax, British Invasion, JB, Aretha, and countless other garage band one-hit wonders.

Despite these great artists, there was no one on the radio quite like Mitch Ryder who brought visceral excitement. No one on the radio could make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and bring a wild-eyed gleam into your eyes because you just knew something was going to happen!

That explosive quality for which he is known was there right from the very beginning. All you have to do to know this man is something special is simply listen to the way his chords progress throughout his songs.

Check out Mitch Ryder and other great blues music at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival. Save the date for the 28th Annual Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival, coming Memorial Day weekend of 2017. Contact us for more information.
