Rhythm You Can Feel in Your Soul: Canned Heat and the Blues

Canned Heat, the legendary Blues band, will be at the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival Memorial Day Weekend 2014 (May 24th and 25th).

Alan Wilson and Bob Hite started Canned Heat in 1966. Originally, they were Blues historians and record collectors but their love of Blues inspired them to become artists, as well. The name for the band came from a 1928 recording done by Tommy Johnson. Since founding the band, Hite and Wilson both have passed away, but their legacy has lasted for over four decades.

The band is now made up of two of the original members, Larry "The Mole" Taylor and Adolfo "Fito" de la Parra and newcomers, Dale Spalding and John "JP" Paulus.
