Swamp Dogg To Perform On The Blues Stage At Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Music Festival

Every Memorial Day Weekend for the past 24 years, the Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival has delighted crowds of 18,000 or more. The festival is now known as the largest of its kind West of the Mississippi.

For two days, stages are surrounded by friendly vendors and the delicious smells and flavors of Cajun and southern food. Crawfish boils, etouffee, sausage gumbo and alligator on a stick will have you swearing you are in New Orleans. It’s Simi Valley, California, and the festival has the blues music that matches the Cajun and soul food dishes served up.

Memorial Day Weekend 2014 will mark the 25th anniversary of the festival. A special celebration is planned and great music will be on both stages.

This year, the festival is pleased to announce that Swamp Dogg is one of the Blues performers slated to perform on the Blues stage. Swamp Dogg’s unique style is a combination of progressive funk like Sly Stone and the absurd lyrics of Frank Zappa.

Rolling Stone Magazine says, “What makes the Dogg something more than the male Stephanie Mills is his delivery. He sings like some unfrozen Atlantic soul man of the Sixties.”

Don’t miss Swamp Dogg’s performance at the 2014 Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival outside of Los Angeles.
